Ryan Gosling's new movie, Project Hail Mary, made the highest grossing opening weekend of 2026 at $80.6 million at the domestic box office. The film, which opened in theaters on March 20, also made an additional $60.4 million worldwide. It is the largest opening for an Amazon MGM Studios movie ever, ahead of 2023's Creed III, and the largest domestic debut of the year ahead of February's Scream 7. Despite this success, it is already the seventh highest-grossing movie in North America overall.
