The Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office and Rock Springs Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance involving an armed person at a complex at 4:10 a.m. when they arrived, they encountered an armed individual with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. During the encounter, a deputy from the sheriff's department discharged his weapon and struck the individual, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation has been requested to investigate the incident. No law enforcement officers or members of the public were injured during this incident.
