The Oklahoma City Police Department has placed officers on leave following reports of an April Fools' Day prank that involved squad cars in pursuit of a baby being thrown out of a car. The call was later revealed to be a hoax. An internal investigation is ongoing and no details have been released regarding the number of officers placed on administrative leave. The police radio audio from the incident was published. It is a misdemeanor crime to report "knowingly false information" which could result in the dispatch of emergency services from any public agency.
