The Las Vegas Raiders have selected defensive back Jermod McCoy from Tennessee in the fourth round of the NFL draft, despite injury concerns that caused him to fall to them due to a bone plug inserted during his ACL reconstruction surgery. McCoy, who has not played a competitive game since tearing his ACL during an offseason workout in 2025, tested well at Tennessee's pro day and ran a 4.38-second 40-yard dash and posted a 38-inch vertical leap, but medical exams reportedly revealed an issue with a boneplug inserted during the surgery. The Raiders believe they gained value in selecting a top-10 talent. Vice President of player personnel Brandon Hunt expressed excitement about the team's decision, stating that they felt good about adding value to a player considered the best in the draft.
