The threat of severe weather remains active in Oklahoma after a series of tornadoes killed at least two people, including a 47-year-old mother and 13-year old daughter killed when their vehicle was hit by a tornado west of Fairview. The National Weather Service confirmed three tornadoes touched down in Oklahoma on Thursday night, one of which claimed the lives of a Fairview mother and daughter. This marks the first tornado-related deaths recorded in Oklahoma since April 19, 2025. The storm also caused an outage for 150 people in Nash, Oklahoma, and power lines were broken in half due to the damage caused by the storm. Despite not many deaths recorded during a typical tornado season, injuries from severe weather often occur in major events. The most fatal tornado season in 2024 brought eight deaths and 137 total injuries.
