‘Iron Man’ Director Jon Favreau Tried to Stop Tony Stark’s Death in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ but Now Admits ‘I Was Wrong’

Director Jon Favreau has admitted he was wrong to try to prevent the death of Tony Stark/Iron Man in the upcoming Marvel movie, "Avengers: Endgame." He had previously advised the Russo Brothers, but they decided to proceed. Favreau, who gave rise to the Marvel Cinematic Universe when he cast Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man in 2008, continues to work with Downey in other Marvel movies by playing Tony’s assistant and driver Happy Hogan. The Russo Brothers initially revealed that Favreau was against their decision to kill off Iron Man. However, he believes that the casting of Downey and Gwyneth Paltrow created a poignancy in the role.
