Deadly Crash Damages Historic Elephant Car Wash Sign In Rancho Mirage

A fatal car accident occurred early morning at the site of the Elephant Car Wash, aka Rancho Super Car Wash. The driver was found dead at the scene, with no other motorists involved. The accident caused extensive damage to the south-facing side of the elephant sign, which was restored in recent years. The car wash has been operating since 1966 and has been awarded a historic designation by the Rancho Mirage City Council in 2023.
