LAFD unveiled specialized E-bike fleet for wildfire response

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) has unveiled a new fleet of 30 high-performance, customized electric motor bikes, "First Responder" bikes, designed to access rugged mountainous terrain where traditional fire apparatus cannot reach, expanding the LAFD's capacity for wildlife detection and rapid medical response. The event was held in conjunction with YouTube and support from Google. The bikes will be used for rescues and access in difficult terrain or natural disasters. Fire Chief Jaime E. Moore emphasized the importance of ensuring the department can reach anyone who needs us, regardless of their location.
