The US-Israeli war against Iran has failed to achieve its goals, with Iran being badly hit and the Gulf paying the bill. The Pakistani-brokered ceasefire, which includes Iran's 10-point peace proposal, was reached after 40 days of war. The agreement includes a two-week ceasefire, no missiles, air strikes, and a promise that negotiators will meet in Islamabad on April 11, 2026. In return, Iran has committed to reopening the Strait of Hormuz, establishing a framework for safe maritime passage, splitting transit fees with Oman, and directing revenues towards reconstruction rather than reparations. The proposal includes a formal guarantee against future military attacks on Iranian territory, a cessation of Israeli military operations in Lebanon, the lifting of US sanctions, and halt to regional fighting involving Iranian allies.
