The East Tennessee Children’s Hospital became the Dolly Parton Children's Hospital earlier this year. The hospital's president and CEO, Matt Schaefer, praised Parton's "generational and transformational commitment" to the mission. The donation will be divided across multiple focus points to benefit children and their physicians. Schaefer also expressed hope that the name of Parton could increase interest in residency recruitment and train pediatricians in the region.
