The first 2026 edition of the Fantasy Baseball Closer Report will feature my season-opening closer rankings. Mason Miller is the number one reliever for the season, following the departure of Robert Suarez. Daniel Palencia has risen following the World Baseball Classic, where he struck out ten batters over four scoreless innings for the United States. Díaz is considered the game's top closer with a career 2.82 ERA and 253 career saves, while Smith took over the closing role in Cleveland after Emmanuel Clase’s suspension and finished with 16 saves. The next tier features a group of relievers with an elevated level of risk, yet still considered among the best in baseball. Despite a disappointing season with the Yankees, Williams is expected to perform well with the Mets after a disappointing year.
