Three years after a plane crash in 2023, Lesly, Soleiny, Tien and Cristin Mucutuy, aged 11 months to 13 years old, were stranded in the Amazon rainforest for 40 days after their single-engine plane crashed into the jungle in Colombia, killing three adults on board. The children, aged between 13, 9, 4 and almost a year old, survived both a violent plane crash and over a month of living in the rainforest. They were found by Colombian soldiers after 40 days in the jungle and survived without food or water. The story of their survival was featured in Netflix's 2024 documentary The Lost Children. The siblings are now in government care and have not been separated since their rescue.
