James Erb found a dead 1,300-plus-pound dairy cow on a beach in Tillamook County, Oregon, while walking with his dog after a major storm. The discovery was found near the mouth of the Nestucca River and Erb said he did not see an ID tag on the cow. This discovery came after a four-day atmospheric river swept northwest Oregon and sent water through TillamOOK County. Park Ranger Supervisor Travis Korbee, who is stationed in the area, said flooding can cause cattle to be washed downstream due to farm fields. However, he said it is rare to find a dead cow on Oregon beaches. The county is home to many farms that run along rivers.
