Carlos Mendoza, manager of the Mets, has stated that the team currently has six starters and is not currently considering a five-man rotation. This comes after SNY analyst Ron Darling suggested that the Mets should consider a more flexible rotation due to Kodai Senga's preference for pitching in a six-man. If all current starters are healthy, they will likely be joined in the rotation by Opening Day starter Freddy Peralta, Clay Holmes, David Peterson, Sean Manaea and Nolan McLean. The team hopes that the rotation remains strong as Holmes and McLean head to the World Baseball Team (WBC) for Team USA. The Mets have also reassigned lefties Anderson Severino and Matt Turner to minor league camp.
