The Fort Yukon girls basketball team has won its third consecutive state title, defeating Newhalen 52-49 in the Alaska State 1A Girls Basketball Tournament. Despite a strong fourth-quarter comeback from Newhalens, the Eagles secured their third consecutive win. The team's head coach, Joshua Cadzow, acknowledged the close game and emphasized the importance of the team's desire to win. Senior post Kylee Carroll, who scored a game-high 23 points, was the standout player in the game. Despite some early losses, the team finished with a 19-11 record.
