Teen arrested with loaded gun in his waistband in Lower East Side school: NYPD

A 16-year-old boy was arrested after administrators at Cascades High School in the Lower East Side were alerted about a loaded firearm. The incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. and resulted in a lockdown. The boy was taken to hospital but no injuries were reported. The arrest comes a day after a girl was arrested for stabbing a 12-year old boy in her own school.
