Winter weather alerts have been issued for 11 New Jersey counties, including Sussex County and six counties along the Delaware River. While less than 1 inch of snow is expected, a transition to freezing rain could lead to a dangerous coating of ice on Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service warns that the hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute. By mid-night, precipitation will change to plain rain throughout New Jersey as temperatures rise into the 40s. The winter weather advisories start as early as 3 a.m. for Sussex County, while mixed precipitation is expected.
