The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved a $83 million deal allowing WISH-TV Channel 8 and WRTV-TV 6 to be owned by the same company, allowing the merger to occur. The decision was made by Circle City Broadcasting, which owns WISH and MyINDY-TV 23. The FCC stated that the merger would strengthen Circle City's position amid financial challenges and protect the smaller MyINDy-TV operation from going dark.
