YouTube is increasing its price of its YouTube Premium plans for the first time in almost three years. The Individual plan will increase from $14 to $16, the Family plan increases from $23 to $27, the Lite plan is increased from $8 to $9, and the Music Premium plan is going from $11 to $12. The company is positioning these changes as a means of supporting content creators and artists. The last time YouTube Premium raised prices was in summer of 2023, shortly after the highest inflation of the post-covid years. However, existing users will not see a price hike until June. The increase is part of a broader trend of increased consumer prices, with rising gas prices following President Donald Trump's decision to start a war against Iran.
