NASA's Artemis II crew is set to meet with President Donald Trump to discuss the future of NASA's Artemis campaign, which aims to establish a moon base and eventually send astronauts to Mars in the 2030s. The team plans multiple uncrewed robotic lunar landings in 2026 and 2027 to prepare for human missions. The long-term goal is to establish an orbiting moon base, establish a permanent base, and send astronauts there in the next few decades. The first human mission under the Artemis program is scheduled for 2027 and aims to test lunar landers and spacesuits, with a potential human landing in 2028. The agency also plans to build a $20 billion moon base.
