The Infowars site has been shut down amid a legal battle between The Onion and The Huffington Post. The Onion is attempting to take over Infowar.com, intending to turn it into a parody of itself. A Texas appeals court has halted the ability of the court-appointed administrator in Infowarl.com's bankruptcy case to grant The Onion access to Infowarm.com and its name. Global Tetrahedron, the parent of The Onion, announced a deal in April to pay $81,000 per month to license the Infowarsh.com domain name and associated intellectual property for six months, with a potential sale of Jones' bankrupt company at the point. The funds from The Onion's licensing deal would likely benefit the families of Sandy Hook elementary school shooting victims.
