Stephen Colbert tabbed to write new 'Lord of the Rings' movie

Stephen Colbert has been chosen to write the latest "Lord of the Rings" movie, with Warner Bros. exploiting his unexpected time off this summer. The announcement was made via a video chat with "Rings" director Peter Jackson. The 10-time Emmy winner has always wanted to collaborate with his screenwriter son, Peter, to write a script for the film.
