Palo Verde's softball team rallied to a 6-3 victory over Arbor View, earning the No. 1 seed in the Class 5A Southern League playoffs. Senior Palo Verde player Ava Koenig pitched five hitless innings in relief and struck out nine, starting a five-run rally in the fourth inning with a solo home run. Koenig, who has committed to Boston University, started the game as the designated player but was pressed into action after Arbor View took a 3-0 lead in the third inning. The turning point of the game was Koenig's leadoff homer over the center-field wall.
