The Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway that Iran has effectively shuttered since the U.S.-Israeli war began on February 28, is not open, according to ADNOC's CEO, Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber. He stated that Iran must reopen the waterway without conditions and be held accountable for damages following attacks on facilities. Al Jaber, who is also UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, stated that energy producers must quickly and safely restore production at scale. The UAE has reiterated its position that Iran will be fully liable for damages and reparations following the attacks on UAE civil and energy infrastructure.
