Broadview mayor says operation 'Midway Blitz' cost village and businesses $700K, seeks reimbursement

The mayor of Broadview, Illinois, is asking the federal government to reimburse the village for costs from the Department of Homeland Security's Chicago-area immigration operation "Midway Blitz". Mayor Katrina Thompson alleges that the operation cost the village and its businesses over $700,000. She has urged federal lawmakers to support the reimbursement and support in permanently closing the Broadview ICE facility.
