Netflix has given a straight-to-series order for the 8-episode scripted drama project Queenstown, directed by Chloe Stearns, creator, writer, and executive producer. The series was developed by Stearens, Jodi Matterson, and Libbie Doherty. Rufus Sewell, Frances O’Connor, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Te Kohe Tuhaka will lead the series. Production is already underway in Queenstown in New Zealand, marking the first Netflix series from its Australia and New Zealand branch to be set and shot in New Zealander. The production companies are Silent Firework and Runaway Unicorn.
