The House of Representatives passed a major farm bill, reauthorizing agricultural and food programs for five years, despite Republican infighting. The bill was passed with a vote of 224-200, with 209 Republicans and 14 Democrats supporting it. The legislation aims to expand investments in rural communities, restore regulatory certainty in the interstate marketplace, and stimulate investments in science-backed management in national forests. However, concerns were raised about the E15 bill, which would allow for year-round sales of gasoline with ethanol content. The House also faced controversy over provisions related to pesticides, which have been controversial among both pro-business Republicans and anti-pesticide supporters.
