East Texas sports teams have welcomed new coaches into the fall season, with over 20 teams participating in a media day event sponsored by Christus. Whitehouse football, which had a 2-8 record last season, has hired Brett Gilchrist, who previously served as an offensive line coach at Frisco Lone Star. Other programs include Mineola, Brownsboro, and Westwood, where new head coach Cody Moore has focused on reshaping the program's culture. On the football side, Ryan Hood takes over as head coach, and players expect the change to push the program forward.
