Wicked weather threatens Coachella music fest as tens of thousands descend on desert

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is being warned of potential dust storms and potentially rain. The National Weather Service has issued an air-quality alert for the area, which could create unhealthy conditions as the festival gets underway. Wind gusts could reach up to 35 mph, potentially sending large amounts of particulate matter, known as PM10, into the air. These pollution can lead to asthma attacks, heart and lung disease symptoms, and increased lung infections. Health experts advise staying indoors, using air conditioning or purifiers, and avoiding fans or swamp coolers. The first weekend of the event features headliners Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Anyma and Karol G.
