A new poll from the University of Texas has revealed that state Rep. James Talarico (D-Austin) leads his potential Republican opponents in the U.S. Senate race in Texas, potentially expanding the battleground for Democrats in their bid to retake the Senate and impose a legislative check on President Trump. Talaric will likely face either U.N. Sen. John Cornyn or Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a May 26 runoff. The survey was conducted April 10-20 and nearly 1 in 5 Texas voters have no opinion about the race yet. The poll also showed opposition to the Iran war and deepening concerns about inflation and the economy.
