ESPN's Dick Vitale has been diagnosed with melanoma in his lung and liver cavity, marking his fifth battle against cancer. The popular broadcaster, known for his catchphrase "Awesome, baby!" and "Diaper Dandy," plans to begin immunotherapy shortly. His first diagnosis occurred in 2021 and he returned to the airwaves in 2025 after a nearly two-year hiatus following a 2024 surgery for cancer. He plans to raise $12 million for pediatric cancer research at the upcoming Dick Vitalese Gala, adding to the $105 million already raised.
