The United States is expected to be hit by extreme weather, with days of downpours in Hawaii, record-breaking heat in the Southwest and record-setting temperatures in the coming days. Two storms will dump snow over northern Great Lakes states, and the dreaded polar vortex will invade the Midwest and East with a strong Arctic chill. The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures will vary from cold to warm to warm, or warm to cold, and this will be more impactful than usual. A heat dome will form over the Southwest early next week, potentially baking temperatures to triple digits that haven't been seen this early in the year. The weather service warns that Phoenix never hit 100 before March 26 and usually hits its first 100-degree day in early May. Meanwhile, two storm systems in a row could dump 3 to 4 feet of snow in places, potentially leading to a significant ice storm in Michigan. There is also a potential for a significant wildfire wildfire in the San Antonio and high winds in the high wind area, and a significant flooding issue in Hawaii.
