‘Polina was a beautiful person’: Man indicted in Pittsburg chase that killed woman, hurt Cal football player

Thomas Jamaar Davis Jr., the suspected driver in a 2025 crash that killed 23-year-old Villamalia Polina Tu’ipulotu and injured her fiancé, former Cal football player Beaux Tagaloa, was indicted last year on murder charges. Davis was also indicted on charges of driving the stolen car that prompted the chase and possessing a stolen gun. He has been held in jail with bail set at $1.07 million. An online fundraiser for Tu'ipulOTu's family raised over $71,000 last year.
