A line of thunderstorms is sweeping through Central Texas, ending a nearly three-week dry spell. The storms hit the Hill Country after 3 a.m., with rain totals reaching 1 to 2 inches. The heaviest rainfall was recorded along the I-35 corridor, with south Austin and most of Hays County receiving more than half an inch. The storm comes at a crucial time for Central Texas as Austin has only received 3.3 inches of rainfall since Jan. 1, making it the driest start to a year since 2014.
