The incident occurred after a dispute occurred at a grocery store in New York City. The man was removed from the store by employees but returned with a kitchen knife 13 inches long. When police arrived, he approached them with the knife and advanced towards them. When the man became too close, one of the officers shot him. He is currently in a critical but stable condition.
