A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or person responsible for a recent cat shooting in South Los Angeles. The incident occurred in an alley near West 94th Street and Vermont Avenue, where at least two cats were shot. The animal rights group alleges that the attacks are occurring amid a growing animal abuse epidemic and ongoing inaction from local authorities. The stray cat named Albert was shot with a BB gun and is now in the care of a local adoption group working with PETA, where it is likely he will need pain medication and walk with a limp for the rest of his life. PETA also reported instances of animal abuse in the area where dozens of animals have been abused.
