The Toronto Blue Jays are replacing Jeff Hoffman as their closer due to ongoing struggles. General Manager Ross Atkins announced that the team will instead share the responsibility with a closer-by-committee approach. Hoffman, who served as the Blue Jays' closer in 2025, has a 7.59 ERA and three blown saves in his 12 appearances out of the ‘pen. He was much better during the team's playoff run, saving two games with a 1.46 ERA across 10 outings.
