ICON Park has introduced a new chaperone policy for guests 17 and younger following a large gathering of teens at the Orlando entertainment district. The policy, which can be enforced at any time, applies to guests 17, younger and requires supervision by an adult age 21 or older. One adult may accompany no more than six guests, and parents or guardians may be legally responsible for the actions of these minors. The change comes after an incident in late April where over 1,000 teenagers gathered at ICON Park, leading to fights and multiple arrests. Despite this, the policy can be activated without advance notice and may be used as a crowd management tool or enforcement mechanism if incidents occur.
