Israel, Lebanon 10-day cease-fire begins after Trump hails ‘historic day’

The 10-day cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon appears to hold, following President Trump's praise of the deal. The truce came into force after the Israeli military targeted 380 Hezbollah targets in a single day. The deal was reached following a call between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Lebanese counterpart Joseph Aoun. It remains unclear if Israel will continue targeting Hezbollah during the cease-fired. Israeli troops will not be withdrawn from southern Lebanon and a security zone will extend six miles into Lebanon. The ceasefire allows Israel's right of self-defense but demands Lebanon to take steps to prevent Hezbollah from attacking Israeli targets.
