The NFL Referees Association (NFL) has accused the NFL of spreading "false and misleading" information about its ongoing Collective Bargaining Agreement talks with the NFL. The union argues that their officials are undercompensated significantly compared to other professional sports, and that they are not provided with health care benefits. The league's goal is to win, to secure the best possible terms for the NFLRA. Meanwhile, the NFL is preparing for another round of replacement officials, with the potential for a potential lockout on May 1. If the two sides agree that May 1 is the actual deadline, a deal could be reached by that day.
