Godsmack's frontman, Sully Erna, has confirmed that there is still more to come for the band. The band's ninth album, "Lightning Up the Sky," was released in 2023 and has been preparing for the release of its new Live at the Mohegan Sun album and the summer's Rise of Rock World Tour. Changes to the band's direction have included the departure of guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin, who retired from touring following the tour supporting the album. Erna and bassist Robbie Merrill have joined the band with Evanescence drummer Will Hunt and Dorothy guitarist Sam Koltun and toured in Europe during 2025. The new album will be released on May 1 and will be accompanied by the Rise ofRock World Tour by Stone Temple Pilots and Dorothy.
