NHTSA takes 'milestone' step toward robotaxi commercial deployment

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (N.A. has begun the process of exempting the nation's first purpose-built robotaxi from certain safety standards so it can be used for commercial purposes. The company had requested these exemptions in August, seeking to use up to 2,000 robotaxis across a handful of U.S. cities.
