Former Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy, Michael David Coberg, has been sentenced to 63 months in federal prison after admitting to participating in an extortion scheme and conspiring to violate a victim's civil rights while working with a self-styled crypto mogul, Adam Iza, known as the "Godfather. Coberg used his badge to assist Iza in his fraudulent marketing and cryptocurrency ventures. Iza has been in federal custody since September 2024 after pleading guilty to charges related to the scheme and is awaiting sentencing. A federal judge has ordered Coberg to pay $127,000 in restitution to the victims of the scheme.
