Published on March 4, 2026.
A swarm of earthquakes has occurred in central Nevada near Tonopah, including a magnitude 4.0 quake near Warm Springs. The largest quake so far measured a 4.2 magnitude. The earthquakes are occurring along a fault that was previously unknown to scientists. Seismologists are monitoring the swarm closely as they work towards bringing the ShakeAlert early warning system to the state. The scientists have encouraged anyone who feels shaking to report it through the U.S. Geological Survey's "Did You Feel It" system.
