Lutheruther Lutheran High School South in St. Louis has introduced girls flag football to its athletic program for the first time in decades, becoming the first private school in the area to do so. The school's Director of Campus Life, science teacher, and longtime head boys basketball coach, Brian Lind, saw an increase in interest in the sport, leading him to start a school-wide, girls-only intramural flag football league. The team is supported by the Kansas City Chiefs and aims to continue growing the program. The future of the program is in the works of increasing female participation in football, with Lind expressing hopes that it will become a mainstay of the school’s athletics program.
