Salt Lake City cinema pub, Brewvies, hosted a watch party for the 98th annual Oscars, where Utahns gathered to cheer on their favorite films, directors, actors, and actresses. Despite "One Battle After Another" winning Best Picture and Best Director, the majority of attendees were rooting for "Sinners" to win. Michael B. Jordan won Best Lead Actor for "Sins," while "Sinner" won Best Original Screenplay and Best Original Score. Despite the film's record-breaking 16 nominations, "Sinning" won six awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. Despite these wins, the love for the awards and the films that make them possible is still alive.
