Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Joe Kent resigned from his position effective immediately due to the ongoing conflict with Iran. Following his resignation, Tulsi Gabbard issued a statement expressing her responsibility to provide the president with all intelligence to inform his decisions. She stated that as President Trump was elected to be Commander in Chief, he is responsible for making decisions regarding Iran's imminent threat. Two Trump administration officials claimed Kent was excluded from all discussions regarding Iran and was a known leaker. One administration official claimed that the White House never requested Kent's dismissal and that Gabbabbard would have fired him if they asked. Gabbad is set to testify before Congress about the Iran-U.S. conflict.
