The Salem Pantry has delivered over 18,000 pounds of seafood from the Seafood Expo North America, the largest seafood trade expo in North America. The team spent over six hours rescuing the surplus product from vendors and delivering two fully loaded trucks to the North Shore. The seafood, which was distributed through The Salem pantry's programs, included frozen fish filets, prepared seafood meals, whole fish, shellfish, and specialty items such as sushi-grade tuna and octopus. The Pantry believes this food rescue is an example of how waste reduction can increase quality for guests and fellow agencies.
