Hawley’s push to revoke abortion pill approval picks up steam

The "Safeguarding Women from Chemical Abortion Act" aims to ban the sale of mifepristone for use in abortions while still allowing it to be used to treat Cushing's syndrome. The bill has received support from GOP Sens. John Cornyn (Texas), Ted Budd (N.C.) and Marsha Blackburn. The drug is currently used for 70 percent of abortions in the United States and has been approved by the FDA for a generic version in October.
