The most significant severe weather threat of the week is expected to occur Friday afternoon, with strong winds, large hail, tornadoes, and heavy rain possible. The main window for severe weather is between 3 and 7 p.m. for the Kansas City area, and be prepared for warnings and dangerous weather. The severe threat ends for Kansas City near sunset, but rain could continue into the evening. A First Warn Weather Day is in place at the highest alert level in place for the area. The primary threat is damaging wind, though spin-up tornadoes are possible. Temperatures are expected to reach the mid 80s, with high temperatures expected to be above 70 and high winds sustained between 15-20 mph. The good news is that dry conditions will continue throughout the weekend and into next week.
